Prayer

Why We Should Pray

Prayer is spiritual communication between us and our Heavenly Father. It's a two-way relationship where we not only talk to God, but take time to listen to Him, as well. And He has a lot to say to each one of us... about how much we are loved, His ultimate plans for our lives, and any other topic we decide to lay at His feet. In short, prayer is simply opening our heartfelt thoughts and emotions to God... and then waiting on His response.

Prayer isn't something we do at Legacy; it defines who we are. It's a gift God has given each one of us to share in the power of the Holy Spirit in being able to address Him directly; and as children of God we are invited to boldly sit before His Throne. Through prayer, we grow in our personal relationship with God, and through intercession, we partner with God to establish His heart, His will, and His purposes in our families, churches, cities, nation, and world. He has called us to be prayer partners to grow in being Spirit-lead and Spirit-filled.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
- Ephensians 6:18
